Action Bar

The Action Bar is located across the top of the Skyware Systems screen, and provides quick access to the more commonly used Front Desk features of the system.

 

The Action Bar is a top navigation bar with a gold band that holds the primary front desk functions.

By default, the Action Bar shows icons, indicating the commands available. Hovering your mouse over each icon provides a pop up tool-tip to indicate the feature represented.

 

These functions are displayed as icons, but clicking the large T at the right will convert them to text.

The icons and words can be toggled between by using the camera icon or T, depending on user preference.

 

The commands available on the Action Bar include:

Walk-In: Allows you to perform a guest check-in for someone who does not have a reservation.

Check-In: Allows you to perform a guest check-in for someone who does have a reservation.

Check-Out: Allows you to check a guest out of your property.

Reservation: Allows you to make a guest reservation.

Modify Folio: Allows you to modify the stay record for a guest.

Room Availability: Allows you to access the Room Availability Chart, which displays a grid of all of the room types and the number of those room types that are available each day based on a specified Date range.

Quick Quote: Typically when someone calls in for rates/availability or to make a Reservation, you would click on the Quick Quote button on the gold bar Action Bar. This is the best practice if the rooms are not all named individually, but instead are listed by Room Type.

Room Chart: Allows you to access the Room Chart, which provides a graphical representation of your rooms in-house/availability with the room numbers and the guests or work orders that are in the room for a specified date or date range.

Diary: The Diary is equivalent to a Front Desk Log book. It is archived automatically by Skyware Systems on a daily basis if there is any entry. It is open for input by all staff .

Reports:  Allows you to access the Reports Area of the Skyware Systems.

Help: Clicking on this command will open the Skyware Systems Help topic for the current screen, and allow you to look at or search for any Help topic in the system.

Training : Clicking on this command will take you to the Skyware Systems Training menu, where you can select a tutorial module or training video to view.

Search Text Box: You can use the Search text box to search for in-house guests or reservations using the room number, confirmation number or guest name. See Searching for Guests for more information.

Camera or "T" icon: Toggle between the icon and text view of the Action bar.

Get Support: Call us at 877-759-9329 (SKY-WEB9) to receive real-time live technical service and operational support whenever the need arises. After-hours support calls WILL REQUIRE A PIN, to enable access to our support personnel. This pin will be generated for you by using our Get Support page. Reach the Get Support page any time by clicking the icon in the Action bar. (This icon does NOT change to text).

Note: The Get Support page is available at ALL times; however a pin will only be generated after-hours. At any other time, after generating the search a message stating that the pin is not required during normal business hours will appear, and our support personnel will be available simply by calling 877-759-9329 (SKY-WEB9).
